A surprise moment at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts has turned into a viral storm, after the stadium’s Kiss Cam caught Andy Byron, the CEO of the software company Astronomer, embracing Kristin Cabot, his Chief People Officer. Both quickly pulled away when they saw themselves on the big screen, leaving the crowd stunned and social media buzzing with affair rumors.

The incident happened on July 16 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin paused mid‑performance, laughing as he told the audience, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Within hours, concertgoers had shared videos on TikTok and X, identifying Byron and Cabot. Both are reportedly married to other people, and they appeared visibly shaken when the camera found them. Online comments flooded in, with one fan writing, “Busted! #zerosympathy.”

Who they are

Andy Byron, 50, has been CEO of Astronomer since 2023. The company, a data‑infrastructure software startup valued at over $1 billion, recently moved its headquarters to New York. In a press release last November, Byron praised Cabot’s hiring, saying,

“Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory.”

Cabot herself said then that she was excited to join a team where,

“a strong people leader and people team can bring so much more than benefits or catered lunches.”

Family fallout and online reaction

Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, has now removed her married name from her Facebook profile and deactivated her account, according to comments from friends on social media. The couple are believed to have two young sons, and many online expressed sympathy for her.

“I hope she’s surrounded by people who love her,” one commenter wrote.

Social media users flooded Byron’s LinkedIn page with mocking comments, prompting him to delete his profile. Cabot’s LinkedIn hiring post was also deleted after the incident spread.

Employee reactions and past remarks

Former colleagues also weighed in. In a podcast interview last year about tech leadership, one ex‑employee described Byron as

“an intense and driven boss who sometimes pushed too hard.”

That remark has resurfaced online amid the backlash.

No official word

Astronomer has not issued an official statement, and a rumored apology circulating online was later confirmed by the company to be fake. Neither Byron nor Cabot has commented publicly since the incident.

As Coldplay continues its Music of the Spheres tour, which includes ten shows at Wembley Stadium in August, the viral Kiss Cam moment has taken on a life of its own—one that neither Byron nor Cabot seems eager to explain.
