Brodie Kane is an Auckland-based broadcaster, podcaster and author, and the answer to “what happened to Brodie Kane’s podcast” is a rebrand rather than an ending: The Girls Uninterrupted signed off in December 2025 after seven years, and Kane relaunched it as Let Her Finish in March 2026 with a new line-up.

That is only one of the jobs she juggles. Since leaving TVNZ she has built her own company, Brodie Kane Media, written a best-selling memoir and run two ultramarathons. Here is what she does now, role by role, plus what she has and has not shared about her private life.

What happened to Brodie Kane’s podcast?

The Girls Uninterrupted, which Kane hosted with Caitlin Marett and Gracie Hitchcock, recorded more than 300 episodes before its farewell, Stuff reported on 17 December 2025. The show did not disappear. In February 2026 rova announced that it was becoming Let Her Finish, hosted by Kane and Hitchcock with Tegan Yorwarth joining, from early March 2026. “We’re not asking for the mic, we’ve already got it,” Kane said.

Marett is not part of the new line-up. Neither side has given a public reason beyond the farewell episode, so we are not going to speculate about a falling-out.

Kiwi Yarns moved to rova too

Her interview podcast Kiwi Yarns left Stuff for MediaWorks’ rova network in early 2026, with a new season starting on 2 February with Louis Davis as the first guest, RadioInfo reported. It was a homecoming of sorts. “My first job as a journalist back in 2007 was at MediaWorks,” Kane said.

Brodie Kane on TVNZ and radio

Before podcasting, Kane spent five years at TVNZ. She was the sports presenter on Breakfast, a roving reporter on Seven Sharp, a reporter on Fair Go and an associate producer on Q+A. She also co-hosted The Hits Breakfast in Christchurch with Dave Fitzgerald and worked at Newstalk ZB and RadioLive.

These days her screen and stage work is mostly hosting. She has presented the Halberg Awards and the Black Clash T20 cricket, fronted the Kiwibank series On The Ladder, and presented ThreeNow’s coverage of the 2022 Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Brodie Kane on The Traitors and Dancing with the Stars

Kane finished runner-up on Dancing with the Stars NZ in 2022. A year later she was one of the Faithfuls in the first season of The Traitors NZ, hosted by Paul Henry, in 2023.

Brodie Kane’s book, Woman Uninterrupted

Her memoir Woman Uninterrupted came out in September 2024 and reached the best-seller charts. It mixes funny stories with heavier chapters: being made redundant, her years in the Army Territorials (she joined straight out of high school and trained in the jungles of Brunei), and lessons learned along the way.

Brodie Kane’s parents and family

Kane grew up in Christchurch. The family member she talks about most is her mum, Jo, an endurance athlete in her own right who has swum Cook Strait twice and completed nine Coast to Coast races. Jo is a central character in the book, and Kane now lives with her in Auckland. Kane has not publicly discussed her father or siblings in the sources we checked.

Does Brodie Kane have a partner?

Searches for a Brodie Kane boyfriend or partner are common, but she has not named one in her official bio, her book’s publicity or any mainstream New Zealand news report we could find as of October 2026. Names that circulate on gossip forums are not confirmed, so we leave them out.

Running, the army and Solo Girls Run Club

Kane served four years in the Territorials of the NZ Army and has a surf lifesaving background. She has completed six marathons and two ultramarathons, is an ambassador for the Sydney Marathon and Challenge Wānaka, and co-founded Solo Girls Run Club, a community run club for women.
