Toni Street is 43 and is heard every weekday morning on Coast, where she co-hosts the breakfast show with Jase Reeves and Sam Wallace. She has been married to former rugby halfback Matt France since December 2009, and the couple have three children: Juliette, Mackenzie and Lachie.
Most Kiwis still picture her next to Mike Hosking on Seven Sharp, but she left TV at the end of 2017. Here is what she does now, who her husband is, and the family story she has told in her own words.
Where is Toni Street now?
Street is on the radio. Coast’s weekday breakfast show runs as Breakfast with Toni, Jase & Sam, and it is still on air in October 2026. She moved to Coast in April 2020 with Jason Reeves after three years on The Hits, where she and Sam Wallace had taken over from Polly and Grant in 2017.
She also hosts We Need To Talk with Toni Street, a wellness podcast. NZME announced the podcast in June 2022, and new episodes were still coming out every week in October 2026.
What else does Toni Street do now?
In 2025 she launched Confident Communication, an online public speaking course with 29 lessons across five modules, and said she was working on a version for children. She also runs Toni’s Book Club for Coast, which went live on stage in Christchurch and Auckland in April 2024.

Who is Toni Street’s husband?
Her husband is Matt France, who grew up in Timaru and played halfback for North Harbour. They married in December 2009. In an NZ Herald interview after she turned 40, he was described as sponsorship manager at Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, the council agency that runs events and venues in Auckland.
Street told the Herald: “Getting together with Matt is the best decision I’ve ever made.”
So yes, Toni Street is still married. Nothing she or Matt has published suggests otherwise.
Toni Street’s children
Street and France have two daughters and a son.
- Juliette, the eldest, was born in October 2012.
- Mackenzie is the middle child.
- Lachie (Lachlan Stephen France) was born on 9 August 2018.
Lachie was carried by a surrogate, Street’s best friend Sophie Braggins. When she announced his name, Street told 1News: “We decided he definitely wasn’t a Noah, and we both looked at him and he’s a Lachie!”
Both girls have performed in musical theatre: Juliette has played Matilda and Mackenzie has played Amanda. Street coaches netball teams on the side.
How old is Toni Street?
Toni Maree Street was born on 8 September 1983 in New Plymouth, which makes her 43 as of October 2026. She went to Highlands Intermediate and New Plymouth Girls’ High, then to Lincoln University on a sports scholarship, and finished a postgraduate diploma in journalism at the University of Canterbury in 2005.
Toni Street’s family and the siblings she lost
Street grew up on her parents’ farm in Taranaki. Her parents are Wendy and Geoff Street, and she has a sister, Kirsty.
The family lost three children. Her twin brother Lance died of leukaemia at about 18 months old. A baby sister, Tracy, died 14 hours after she was born. Her brother Stephen was 14 when he was killed in a quad bike accident on the farm on 7 January 2002.
Her mother Wendy told the Herald: “I think we are a close family because of what happened to us.” Street wrote about those years in her 2021 memoir, Lost and Found: My story of heartbreak and hope.
