The Traitors NZ is coming back for a fourth season, and applications to be a player are open now. No air date has been announced yet. Three seasons have screened on Three so far, won by Faithfuls Anna Reeve and Sam Smith in 2023, Traitor Bailey Kench in 2024 and Traitor Chloe Withrington in 2026.
Season three, the first hosted by Madeleine Sami, finished on 29 June with Withrington taking the whole $75,000 pot. Below are the cast, winners and elimination order for every season, plus where the show is filmed and how to apply.
Is there a season 4 of The Traitors NZ?
Yes. Sky Free, the company behind Three, says “The Traitors NZ will return for season 4” and is calling for players who are entertaining, smart and strategic. As of late October 2026 there is no premiere date, host announcement or cast list for the new season.
For timing, the first three seasons give a rough guide. Season one started in August 2023, season two in July 2024 and season three on 31 May 2026, after a year off in 2025. All three aired in the middle of the year.

Who won The Traitors NZ?
Every season has ended differently. In season one two Faithfuls split the pot, in season two a recruited Traitor took it all, and in season three a Traitor who was recruited late in the game walked away with the full prize.
- Season 1 (2023): Anna Reeve and Sam Smith, both Faithfuls, shared what The Spinoff called a “$59,000 pot”. Traitor Brooke Howard-Smith was banished at the final three.
- Season 2 (2024): Bailey Kench, an Auckland wedding videographer who started as a Faithful and was recruited as a Traitor, won $73,000. Faithful Donna Officer was runner-up.
- Season 3 (2026): Chloe Withrington, recruited as a Traitor in episode eight, won $75,000. Faithful Maruia Jensen was runner-up.
Kench later told The Spinoff the wait before the final votes left her feeling “physically sick”, and that “the game itself is pretty cruel and ambitious, but I just enjoyed the ride.”
Who was in The Traitors NZ season 3?
Season three had 21 players and, unlike season one, no celebrities. The Traitors were Bradley Ogg, Jill Braithwaite and Keanu Feleti from the start, with James Brown and Chloe Withrington recruited as the game went on. Everyone else was a Faithful.
The Spinoff reported the season screened on Three on Sundays and Mondays at 7.30pm and streamed on ThreeNow, with players competing for up to $100,000. It was the first season to get NZ On Air funding, and it also received $75,000 from Canterbury’s Screen Production Grant.
The Traitors NZ season 3 elimination order
The first player out in season three, Michael Meharg, left in episode one and later returned to the game. From episode two on, Faithfuls were murdered overnight and players were banished at the round table, until Withrington and Jensen were the last two standing.
| Episode | Murdered | Banished |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Rachael King | none |
| 3 | Jannaia Fuimaono | Ryan Fairweather, Kate Laidler |
| 4 | Elliott Lam | Bradley Ogg (Traitor) |
| 5 | none | Jill Braithwaite (Traitor) |
| 6 | Michael Meharg | Harrison Ryder |
| 7 | Dave Ward | Aroha Noanoa |
| 8 | Samantha Richards | James Brown (Traitor) |
| 9 | Maria Williams | Hannah Kremmer |
| 10 | Aaron Fleming | Keanu Feleti (Traitor), Violette Perry, Debbie Ryder |
The finale opened with triathlete Aaron Fleming murdered, and Keanu Feleti, a Traitor since day one, was voted out at the final round table. In the end Maruia Jensen voted out Debbie Ryder rather than Withrington, which handed the Traitor the win.
Who was in The Traitors NZ season 2?
Season two had 22 players, an all-new cast, with Paul Henry as host. The Traitors were Mike Adams, Whitney Greene and Jane Massey at the start, with Jackie Pope (in episode one), Bailey Kench, Siale Tunoka and Ben Porter recruited later.
