Electric Avenue 2027 runs on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 February 2027 in Hagley Park, Christchurch, with Calvin Harris and Kings of Leon at the top of the bill. Weekend passes are sold out, so the only official ways in now are Ticketmaster’s authorised resale and a locals-only release of 4,000 extra tickets for greater Christchurch residents.
The two-day festival has become the country’s hottest ticket. Here is everything that has been confirmed so far, from the full line-up to the age rules, gate times and what is still to come, as of 2 November 2026.
When is Electric Avenue 2027?
Electric Avenue 2027 takes place over two days, Friday 26 February and Saturday 27 February 2027, in Hagley Park in central Christchurch. It is strictly R18, and organisers say the expanded site can hold 50,000 people a day, or 100,000 across the weekend, after extra land was secured.
The extra space came from Christchurch City Council and Hagley Golf Club, which organisers thanked when they announced the expansion on 13 October, 1News reported. Festival director Callam Mitchell describes the event as “a destination festival in its own right”, drawing visitors from around New Zealand and increasingly from overseas.

Calvin Harris and Kings of Leon headline a line-up revealed on 17 September 2026. Major Lazer, Bebe Rexha, Kasabian, Jungle, Underworld, Kehlani, Tove Lo and Gorgon City lead the international acts, while Fat Freddy’s Drop, Home Brew, Ladyhawke, SACHI and Th’ Dudes fly the flag for New Zealand.

Calvin Harris is playing his only New Zealand show at the festival, and Rolling Stone AU says it will be Kings of Leon’s first Christchurch performance in 19 years. Th’ Dudes return to mark 50 years as a band, having played Electric Avenue two years earlier, 1News reported. Kings of Leon also have an Auckland Domain show two days before, listed in our NZ concerts guide.
Rolling Stone AU published the full bill in two lists, without labelling them by day. The table below shows both lists as published.

Who plays on Friday and who plays on Saturday?
The day-by-day split for the headliners has not been spelt out in the announcement coverage. Rolling Stone AU reported that Fat Freddy’s Drop, Th’ Dudes, Daily J and Savage play on Friday, and that Saturday features Home Brew, SACHI, Ladyhawke and Coterie. Home Brew are also touring New Zealand this November, as our Home Brew tour guide sets out.
Are Electric Avenue tickets sold out?
Yes. Electric Avenue 2027 sold out on Thursday 24 September 2026, when the final 15,000 tickets went on sale. Organisers had already sold 32,000 weekend passes in April, before a single artist was named, and the festival’s own ticketing page now lists 2027 tickets as sold out.
Demand on release day was enormous. 1News reported that 58,674 individual fans joined at least one queue, with 96,395 queue joins in total, and that One NZ customers secured 5,000 tickets in the final allocation. The general sale and the One NZ after-sale sold out almost immediately.
Managing director Callam Mitchell said: “Selling 32,000 weekend passes before announcing a single artist was an incredible vote of confidence.” He called the response on release day “extraordinary”.
How much are Electric Avenue tickets?
A weekend general admission pass had a face value of around $500, according to 1News. Single-day, VIP and Afterpay options were part of the 2027 release, but organisers have not published a full price list, and the festival says early buyers get “sweet ticket discounts”.
How does the Electric Avenue Christchurch ballot work?
On 13 October 2026 organisers announced 4,000 extra tickets for people living in greater Christchurch only. They said the tickets were “not on sale yet” and that full details, including the eligibility rules, would follow. The festival website now has a dedicated Christchurch Ballot page with a waitlist sign-up.
The extra tickets exist because the site has grown. Organisers said they had “secured extra space to expand the site”, lifting daily capacity to 50,000. If you live outside greater Christchurch, this release is not open to you.
Can you resell or transfer Electric Avenue tickets?
Only through Ticketmaster. The festival’s ticketing FAQ says Ticketmaster is “the only authorised reseller for Electric Avenue tickets”, and that the only way to transfer EA 2027 tickets is to sell the whole ticket on its authorised resale platform. Partial refunds for unused days of a weekend pass are not available.
Scalpers moved quickly after the sell-out. 1News found weekend passes listed on Facebook Marketplace and Trade Me for up to $2,000, about four times face value. Jessica Walker from Consumer NZ said: “Unfortunately, there’s no law in NZ to prevent tickets being resold for a higher price.” She advised buyers to “only buy tickets from the authorised seller”.
What is the Electric Avenue age limit?
Electric Avenue is strictly R18. You must be 18 or older on the day you enter, and children cannot attend even with a parent. Only three kinds of ID are accepted: a NZ photo driver licence, a NZ or international passport, or a Kiwi Access Card, and it must be valid beyond 27 February 2027.
The festival’s wording is blunt: “No ID, No Entry, No Exceptions.” Expired cards, student IDs and photos of ID are not on the accepted list.
What time does Electric Avenue start and finish?
The festival’s current FAQ lists gates opening at 2pm on Friday and 1.30pm on Saturday, with gates closing at 7pm both days. The music ends at 10.30pm on Friday and 11pm on Saturday. Organisers say all timings can change, and set times for 2027 have not been released yet.
There is no re-entry, so once you leave you cannot come back in the same day. The FAQ also warns that Electric Avenue is an all-weather event with limited shelter, and that general admission ticket holders cannot store coats or bags.
